Of course, it’s better to give than receive, yet I had become bored with gift giving. The most asked for gifts include cash, gifts cards or something from a pre-selected gift list or registry. This means that giving the gifts that are most coveted requires very little imagination or effort. If you believe the proverb, “it’s the thought that counts” but very little thought (consideration) was required than, logically giving a common or expected gift can feel rather anticlimactic for both parties.

Naturally, I wanted to gift the items that were desired. So, the question became, how does one turn an ordinary gift into something that is thoughtful and extraordinary? Well, you need to “think outside the box”.
